The V International Forum "Childhood Safety. Responsible Parenthood" was held in Kirov, organised by the regional branch of the Union of Women of Russia, the "Fathers of Russia" movement and the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Kirov Region. The work of the venues was moderated by Irina Morozova, Chair of the regional branch of the Union of Women of Russia, and Vladimir Shabardin, the Children's Ombudsman.

This year's key theme focused on the specifics of raising boys and girls. The forum also featured thematic sessions on reproductive health and an interactive first aid training site.

      Kirov State Medical University traditionally served as a key partner of the forum, with its student community handling organisational matters. The event brought together over 450 participants and 11 experts.

      A notable international perspective was contributed by students Abdelmassi Rufana from Egypt and Al Hajj Ali Hassan from Lebanon. With the assistance of translator Ekaterina Khodyreva, they prepared a presentation on foreign parenting traditions, contrasting them in with Russian cultural practices. Rufana highlighted family traditions in Egyptian families in general and hers particluarly while Hassan gave in-depth understanding of boys upbringing in the modern realia of his country.
