The clinic of Kirov State Medical Academy was established in May 1995.

     Professor Nikolai Konstantinovich Voznesensky, was appointed the first chief physician of the clinic, and Polina Konstantinovna Zhuravleva, a professional pathologist, was appointed deputy director for medical work. The Kirov Regional Center of Professional Pathology and the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases were also located on the basis of the clinic. During the period from 1996 to 1998, equipment was purchased and the work of a clinical diagnostic laboratory, endoscopy rooms, functional diagnostics, ultrasound diagnostics, and an X-ray room was organised. Classes began with students, residents and graduate students.

     From 2005 to 2008, the clinic was headed by doctors Andrey Yurievich Alekseev, PhD Andrey Leonidovich Krivokorytov, Alexander Ivanovich Gorgotsky. During these years, the improvement of the medical and diagnostic base continued. In 2007, as part of the clinic, a consultative and diagnostic department was organized, where conditions were created for admission by doctors of various specialties, and a consultative reception of patients was organized by the teaching staff of the Academy. The Department of Family Medicine of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of Kirov State Medical Academy is organized on the basis of the department.

     From July 2008 to November 2013, the clinic was headed by honored doctor of Russia Andrey Maratovich Epstein. During this period, a neurological department was organised in the clinic (2009). Since 2011, a laboratory for the study and treatment of sleep problems began functioning in the clinic, a general practitioner's office was established, and the improvement of the medical and diagnostic base (computed tomography) continued.

     From December, 2014, to December, 2018, the clinic was headed by an orthopedic traumatologist, plastic surgeon Dmitry Kovalenko. In August 2016, the clinic organised a surgical department (with a center for plastic and maxillofacial surgery, traumatology and orthopedics) for 10 beds. In April, 2018, a 3-bed anesthesiology and intensive care unit was opened.

     From February 2019 to the present, the clinic is headed by a psychotherapist  Alexander Vladimirovich Vershinin. Under his leadership, the medical and diagnostic base of the clinic continues to improve, the clinic premises have been renovated, and the range of medical services provided is expanding.

     Currently, the clinic has 4 inpatient departments: a therapeutic department with 45 beds, a neurological department with 37 beds, a surgical department with 16 beds, an anesthesiology and intensive care unit (2 beds). On the basis of the clinic there is a department of hospital therapy, a department of family medicine and polyclinic therapy.

     The Therapeutic Department (head of the department - doctor of Medical Sciences, professor Svetlana Vladimirovna Malchikova) provides specialised medical care to patients with pathology of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system and cardiovascular system. Since March, 2013, on the basis of the Therapeutic Department, 30 beds have been functioning according to the profile "Medical Rehabilitation" for patients who have undergone acute coronary syndrome and heart surgery.

The Neurological Department (head of the department – candidate of Medical Sciences  Elena Valentinovna Mkrtchyan) provides specialised medical care to patients with cerebrovascular pathology, paroxysmal disorders of consciousness, neuropathies and dorsopathies.

     The Surgical Department (the head of the department is a doctor of the highest category Roman Vyacheslavovich Tsibilev) provides specialised medical care to patients in the profile of "Surgery", "Traumatology and Orthopedics", "Cardiovascular Surgery", "Plastic Surgery" and "Maxillo-facial Surgery".

     The Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation (the head of the department is a doctor of the highest category, Vadim Pavlovich Blinov) provides specialised medical care to patients in the profile "Anesthesiology and Resuscitation".

     In the consulting and diagnostic department of the clinic, outpatient appointments are conducted by specialists of the clinic, as well as professors and associate professors of the University.

     Since 2011, the Department of Dentistry has been located on the basis of the consulting and diagnostic department of the clinic.
