The library staff consists of 13 employees with higher and secondary specialised library education.
Information Department is represented by reference publications, card catalouges (alphabetical, systematic), an electronic catalouge that contain information about the library's fund and help readers navigate it. Employees of the department conduct consultations for readers, first-year students are introduced to various information resources that are used in the educational process of the University.
The library ofKirov State Medical University provides online access to various remote professional information and reference search engines and databases. Along with the use of printed publications in the educational process, the library provides access to the full texts of educational and scientific publications from various electronic library systems (EBS) created by leading publishing houses in Russia.
In 2013, its own Electronic Library System was created. This is a database based on the materials of the departments of the university. This electronic resource is intended for the use of full-text educational, methodological, scientific and other developments of the scientific and teaching staff for educational purposes by students, residents, postgraduates of our university. After authorisation, access is possible from home computers via the Internet.

The University Library is a living and constantly changing department. Over the years of its existence, the staff has changed, new forms of work and reader service have appeared, and the addition of new equipment gives the team hope for improvement of work and new opportunities for obtaining information for all categories of readers.
