Victory Day

Dear veterans, faculty members, staff and students!

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory. These decades have not been able to erase the people's feat from memory: the echo of battles, the rumble of gunfire, the weight of losses and the joy of Victory.

In the crucible of the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet people endured unimaginable trials and emerged victorious. They not only defended the Fatherland - they won back the very possibility of a future, granting us the right to live, love, dream, and create.

Today, bowing our heads in silent tribute, we turn to our veterans, and we honor the bright memory of those who did not return from the battlefields-whose names are carved in the granite of memorials and written into the family histories of every home. Their unity, courage and greatness of spirit were the indestructible shield that stopped the enemy.

The world has changed, and new challenges stand on the horizon. Yet today, Russian warriors continue the heroic relay of the victors. On the fields of the special military operation, they carry the banner of their fathers and grandfathers with honor, demonstrating courage, resilience, and fidelity to duty. Their feat is a continuation of the great chronicle, in which every page is steeped in valor and love for the Motherland.

Cherish the memory, take pride in the deeds of your ancestors, and draw strength and wisdom from them. May the eternal flame of remembrance never go out - may it burn in our hearts as a bright, unquenchable fire, warming our souls and lighting the way.

With respect and faith in our common future,

Rector of Kirov State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor L.M. Zheleznov
