Students represented Kirov SMU at the Cardiology Olympiad in Minsk

The 3rd Belarusian Cardiology Olympiad finished on 24 April. The qualifying round saw 194 senior medical students from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan compete.

Among those who made it to the finals were Kirov State Medical University students Darya Morozova and Ilya Knyazhev - both members of the team "Thoracic Toads," champions of the 2025 Almazov Cardiology Olympiad. Daria and Ilya were among the 15 finalists and took part in the in-person stage in Minsk.

The Olympiad was organised as an individual competition and included both theoretical and practical contests. Our students demonstrated a high level of preparation and confidently secured places in the top three. The Olympiad concluded with the traditional "Jeopardy!"-style competition, where the team captain faced a bit of bad luck.

Following all the rounds, the overall winner was a representative from Belarus. Daria Morozova took second place in the individual standings, while Ilya Knyazhev finished fourth. This result is a significant achievement for students from Kirov.

Congratulations to Daria and Ilya on their excellent performance, and best of luck to them at the upcoming Almazov Cardiology Olympiad in Saint Petersburg.
