Student team "Medbratstvo" of Kirov SMU triumphs in a festive competition of knowledge and talent.
Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Cameroon, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Uganda. Students from all these nations are united by great Russia, the mighty Russian language, unique Russian culture and the hospitable Vyatka land. Following tradition, on the eve of the New Year, the international student family of our university, under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Russian Language Department Anna Komarova, took part in the annual ethno-quiz "Hello, Russia!". The event was organised by Kirov State Medical University and the House of Peoples' Friendship, with the support of the Ministry of Internal Policy of Kirov Region. Student teams and support groups from Kirov universities - Kirov SMU, VyatSU, and VyatSAU - participated in the quiz.
The game consisted of three rounds. Our university's team brilliantly answered questions on migration legislation, demonstrated excellent knowledge of the traditions, culture, languages, and cuisines of the peoples of Russia, and answered questions about the history, traditions, and culture of the Vyatka region with humor. Participants beautifully and melodically performed self-composed songs, the Russian songs "Katyusha" and "If It Weren't for Winter," poems by A.S. Pushkin, as well as national songs and dances.
The most emotional moment was the meeting of the players with the fairy-tale characters Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, who congratulated everyone on the upcoming New Year and participated in awarding the winners - our team "Medbratstvo".
