The Department of Pharmacology at Kirov State Medical University hosted a thematic event titled "Prescriptions of Humanity," dedicated to World Doctor's Day. The meeting was organised jointly with students of the Faculty of Foreign Students.
Future doctors learned about the history and traditions of this commemorative day. Participants discussed the professional challenges practicing physicians face in their daily working lives, including emotional burnout, time constraints, and complex ethical dilemmas. Together with their teacher, students explored ways to overcome these difficulties, noting that a successful medical career requires not only deep theoretical knowledge but also inner resilience.
As part of the creative portion of the event, international students filled out symbolic prescription forms addressed to themselves in their future professional lives. Instead of the usual Latin names of medications and dosages, students inscribed qualities such as responsibility, empathy, critical thinking, resilience and humanity. It served as a personal commitment for students to be true to professionalism and compassion toward patients under any circumstances. The event allowed future doctors to emphasise the universal nature of the medical profession, which unites specialists regardless of their nationality.
