International Students Soldify Phthisiology Knowledge Through Quest Format

On 15 October, the Department of Internal Medicine of Kirov State Medical University hosted an intellectual quest game as part of the phthisiology training cycle. Participants in the educational event were international students of the graduating course. The main goal of the interactive exercise was the comprehensive revision of previously obtaines theoretical material.

The quest program included several sequential stages designed to test specialized knowledge. In the first stage, teams were tasked with solving a specialised crossword puzzle composed of medical terms and concepts used in phthisiology. Having demonstrated a high level of theoretical preparation, the teams moved on to a practical challenge. Students were required to independently model and describe in detail an extended clinical scenario related to the diagnosis, course and treatment of tuberculosis, while applying all the assigned phthisiology terms.

While completing the assignments, future specialists displayed high engagement, pronounced team spirit, and a creative approach to solving complex clinical problems. The interactive format allowed students to discuss patient management algorithms in detail and implement professional communication skills. Following an intense but friendly intellectual competition, the organisers recorded a draw, emphasising that the main outcome of the event was the improved level of preparation among all participants.
