On 7 and 8 April, Kirov State Medical University transformed its strict academic atmosphere into a whirlwind of creative expression. The Student Spring 2026 festival unfolded in a vivid palette of colors at the Railway Workers' Palace of Culture, proving that in the heart of every medical student lives an artist, a poet, and a musician.
The festival's overall theme, "Tradition and Modernity," gave everyone the opportunity to reveal their potential through original creative works reflecting the connection between generations and current trends. The festival opened with a dynamic performance by the collective "Vdokh," which instantly erased the boundary between the audience and the stage, and each faculty presented unique programs where personal experiences intertwined with universal meanings.
For the Faculty of Foreign Students, this event was more than just a performance, it was a true celebration of the amazing diversity and talent within our community. Watching months of hard work finally shine under the lights was an unforgettable experience. The faculty brought a special flavour to the festival, with their program becoming living proof that art is a universal language capable of uniting different cultures in a single rhythm. The faculty was recognised with the award for "The Image of the Profession through Creativity," as well as the award for National Dance.
Other faculties also delivered remarkable performances. The Pediatrics Faculty built their performance around pressing social issues, turning the stage into a space for reflection on eternal values and winning the award for Best Original Script. The Social Economics Faculty presented a fairy-tale parable that amazed the audience with its refined aesthetics and hidden subtexts, later winning Best Vocal Performance, Best Costume Theater, Best Stylized Dance, and the newly established special nomination "People's Voice of the Students" for their song "Oh, Mamonyka." The Medicine Faculty turned to the heritage of the Decembrists, creating not just a costume show but an intense dialogue about homeland, duty, and justice, and together with the Social Economics Faculty were named winners of Student Spring 2026. The Dentistry Faculty brought a completely different, vital energy by reimagining the traditional wedding ceremony through irony and unrestrained drive, winning awards for Sparkling Humor and Best Dance Duet.
In honour of the university's thirty-ninth anniversary, Rector Lev Mikhailovich Zheleznov presented well-deserved awards to the winners of the university competition, recognising the best student groups of the faculties, exemplary dormitory rooms and the winners of the video contest "Dialogue of Cultures and Traditions." The festive event concluded with an awards ceremony for the festival winners in various nominations, including female and male vocals, best performance in a foreign language, best female and male roles, best supporting female role, stage duet, solo dance, modern choreography, pop dance, and best program booklet design.
The evening proved that the white coat is not only a symbol of the profession but also a canvas for new creative discoveries, and when the curtain fell a trace of this remarkable celebration of art remained in the hearts of all present.
