On 1 April, the traditional Spartakiad among students of higher educational institutions of the Kirov region in chess took place at the Yunost Olympic Reserve Sports School, bringing together the strongest players from different universities in the region to compete for the title of the best. The atmosphere of the tournament was truly intense and spectacular, with participants demonstrating not only refined playing skills but also developed logic, analytical abilities, and the ability to find unconventional solutions in difficult situations at the chessboard.
The team of our university performed worthily and took third place in the overall team standings, a serious achievement and a source of pride. A particular success was achieved by Olesya Kaygorodova, who won an honorable second place among the women, demonstrating confident and thoughtful play.
We congratulate all participants on their successful performance and wish them further victories in both chess tournaments and their studies, because chess is not just a sport but also develops strategic thinking, logic, and concentration, qualities that will be useful to every future specialist in their professional activities.
