Students of Kirov State Medical University, S. Toinova and K. Permyakova, who are in their 4th year of the Pediatric Faculty, took part in the winter scientific and educational school "Scientific and Practical Aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology," held at Vitebsk State Medical University.
The program included research seminars, practical lectures, and educational sessions covering a wide range of topics, from gastrointestinal functionality to infection prevention and the treatment of organic pathologies. A particular highlight was the work carried out within the walls of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Specialized Center.
Of special practical value was the opportunity to learn about the operations of the surgical and intensive care units, which allowed the students to directly observe the realities of medical practice.
The traditional cultural program, organized by Vitebsk State Medical University, included a tour of Vitebsk's historic center, the Marc Chagall Art Center, and the Dukhovsky Kruglik (a local landmark).
"This internship was an unforgettable experience and provided a wealth of new knowledge and skills," shared Sofia Toinova. "What was especially valuable was that the program allowed us to build a network of professional contacts among participants from different universities. We were able to establish useful connections with colleagues, students, and doctors from various regions of the country and discuss prospects for joint research and publications. We even came up with an idea for a research paper together with a pharmacy student from Vitebsk State Medical University, which became an additional achievement for our team. We are grateful to Vitebsk State Medical University for their warm welcome and for the opportunity to participate in the winter school."
