In March, participants of the primary branch of the First Movement of our university took part in the municipal stage of the military‑patriotic game Zarnitsa. Under the guidance of their mentors, E. V. Kuznetsova, head of the competency center, and O. V. Zotina, head of the pre‑university training center, a team of activists was formed and thoroughly prepared.
The competition gathered more than eighty teams. Over the course of two days, students of Kirov SMU served as judges at the Medicine stage, where they assessed how correctly and quickly participants handled first aid tasks, including stopping bleeding, applying bandages and splints, as well as acting in a coordinated manner during the evacuation of an injured person.
This challenge clearly demonstrated that a future medical professional must not only possess medical knowledge but also be able to act quickly, skillfully and selflessly in an emergency situation. Senior students showed a high level of preparation, their work became a worthy example of professionalism for the schoolchildren.
For many young participants, taking part in the game became an important step in their professional orientation. By observing the work of future doctors, the schoolchildren were able to become more familiar with the medical profession, understand its specific features, and recognise the responsibility and importance of this profession.
The military‑patriotic game not only helps schoolchildren take their first steps in choosing a profession but also contributes to the patriotic education of youth. The participants develop physical strength and endurance, learn to work in a team, strengthen their civic position, and cultivate respect for the history of their fatherland.
Thanks to the efforts of the mentors and students, the Medicine stage of the municipal round of Zarnitsa was conducted at a high level. The event achieved all its goals and left the participants with bright, memorable impressions.
