During a working visit to the Kirov Region, the Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, M.A. Murashko, visited Kirov State Medical University – the youngest medical school in Russia, which currently has over 3,000 Russian and international students.
M.A. Murashko was accompanied by the Governor of the Kirov Region, A.V. Sokolov; the First Deputy Chairman of the Kirov Region Government, D.A. Kurdyumov; and the Minister of Healthcare of the Kirov Region, E.E. Vidyakina.
The delegation was briefed on the implementation and application of lean technologies in the university's operations. They were told how modules on lean technologies are being integrated into core educational programs and further education courses for medical personnel, including within the framework of the federal project "Labor Productivity." A demonstration was given at the "Inventory Management" medical process factory, and the results of collaboration with the regional project office "Efficient Region. Kirov Region" were presented.
The hands-on, practice-oriented approach to training was showcased during a visit to the multidisciplinary simulation and accreditation center. There, they observed 6th-year students in a "Simulation Course" class and an open lesson for 5th-year students on "Minimally Invasive Surgical Interventions in Gynecology." A pleasant surprise for M.A. Murashko was a meeting with his doctoral dissertation scientific consultant, Professor S.A. Dvoryansky, who is the head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. The guests also visited the anatomy department and its museum.
The visit to Kirov State Medical University concluded with a discussion on the university's development strategy. Rector L.M. Zheleznov delivered a report on this topic.
M.A. Murashko expressed his confidence in the future of higher medical education and science in the Kirov Region.
