Imagine a room humming not just with voices, but with shared purpose. This was the true spirit of the 4th International Forum "Childhood Safety. Responsible Parenthood," held on 30 October in Kirov. More than a conference, it felt like a gathering of hearts as parents, teachers, mentors asking the same deep questions: how do we keep our children safe? And how do we help their hearts grow roots, strong and deep, in the soil of their home? The forum, coordinated together by the Union of Women, the Fathers of Russia Foundation, and the region's Commissioner for Children's Rights, became a shared space to find those answers.
Perhaps the most vivid reminder of what "safety" truly means came from the students and teachers of Kirov State Medical University. Their "First Aid" interactive station wasn't just a tutorial. It was an act of care transformed into action. Parents knelt beside students, practicing bandages and compressions. Safety isn`t just an abstract idea but a skill passed from helpers to others.
The conversation then stretched across the world, yet felt intimately close. When Samuel Aaron, a medical student from India, took the stage, he spoke of family, values, and love for his homeland. He spoke of India, but the nods in the audience said he was speaking of a universal language. With the gentle bridge of translator Ekaterina Khodyreva, his words became a reminder that the love we pour into our children, the stories we tell them, and the values we cherish, are the same threads used to encourage strong communities everywhere.
The forum proved something beautiful: that raising children is the most human project of all. It blends the practical with the profound. Knowing how to close a scrape, and knowing how to heal a soul.
