Each year on 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities reminds us of a crucial societal goal: creating a world that is not only accessible but truly inclusive for everyone.
At the heart of this mission lies medical rehabilitation, a field dedicated to restoring independence and improving quality of life. To bridge the gap between theory and practice, 6th-year students from the Faculty of Foreign Students recently participated in a transformative session at the Clinic of Kirov State Medical University.
Guided by Associate Professor N.S. Maksimchuk-Kolobova, the future doctors stepped out of the classroom and into the Department of Medical Rehabilitation. Here, they immersed themselves in the real-world tools of care. They explored therapeutic equipment for patients with mobility challenges and delved into the principles of ergorehabilitation, learning how to tailor environments to support recovery and daily life.
This hands-on experience was more than a lesson; it was a perspective shift. The students concluded that such practical engagement is vital. It promotes a deeper, more empathetic understanding of disability - an understanding that carries profound medical and social value for the healers of tomorrow.
