A Global Tour Without Leaving the Classroom: Exploring Anatomical Museums of the World

The Anatomy Thematic Week at our university is in full swing, and this year it brought a groundbreaking new event: the "Anatomical Museums of the World" presentation competition.

This wasn't a typical classroom session. Students from the Faculty of Foreign Studies transformed into virtual guides, leading their group mates on a fascinating journey across continents without ever leaving the university. The audience, fellow students immersed in their anatomy studies, traveled from the halls of Azerbaijan to the collections of Bangladesh, India, and Yemen.

Each presentation unveiled a world of knowledge, showing that while the core principles of anatomy are universal, their preservation and presentation are deeply cultural. Students discovered both familiar exhibits, similar to those in our own university museum, and unique specimens that told vivid stories of comparative human anatomy and evolution.

Professor Svetlana Andreeva, chairing the jury, highlighted a key insight from the event: the crucial role of modern technology in creating anatomical models. These advanced solutions, she noted, are revolutionising museum collections and deepening our understanding of the human form.

The journey doesn't end here. The rich materials from these presentations will become part of the department's official video library, creating a permanent digital archive. This resource will allow future students to continue exploring the intricate and awe-inspiring world of human anatomy, one global museum at a time.
