Two fourth-year students from Kirov State Medical University gained exceptional clinical experience at the prestigious Summer Scientific-Educational Schools hosted by Belarusian State Medical University in July. Marina Belyatskaya specialised in modern endocrinology while Harry Mikhailov focused on rheumatology during the intensive programs that attracted over 80 participants from top Russian and Belarusian medical universities.
The schools' unique approach impressed both students. "After each lecture, we examined real patients, conducted interviews and physical exams, then developed treatment plans with professors," explained Harry. "This immediate clinical application of knowledge, combined with networking opportunities, made the learning truly exceptional."
Marina praised both the academic rigor and cultural immersion: "The school deepened my endocrinology expertise while introducing us to Belarusian traditions. The organisers' thoughtful care for participants made this an unforgettable professional and personal experience."
At the closing ceremony, rector Sergey Rubnikovich commended participants' high qualifications and encouraged their continued professional growth. All attendees received certificates and memorable gifts.
This exchange marks another successful step in strengthening Russian-Belarusian collaboration in medical education while providing transformative training for future physicians. The practical skills and international connections gained will undoubtedly contribute to the students' developing careers.
