The latest academic exchange program between Kirov State Medical University and partner institutions in Belarus has drawn to a successful close, leaving participating students with unforgettable professional experiences and new perspectives on medical practice.
A group of future obstetricians-gynecologists from Kirov - Tatyana Novoselova, Yulia Senyushkina, and Yulia Tyulkina - completed their intensive training at Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk. "What impressed me most was how Belarusian specialists combine deep theoretical knowledge with exceptional clinical skills," shared Yulia Senyushkina. "The doctors didn't just show us techniques - they taught us to think like specialists, to see the whole clinical picture. This approach has fundamentally changed how I view patient care."
Simultaneously, dental students Maria Tsaregorodtseva, Anna Kiseleva, and Polina Attia gained experience in therapeutic dentistry at the same institution. Their colleagues Ksenia Akhtulova, Kristina Barinova, Alexandra Mosyurova, and Tatyana Skripnikova expanded their professional horizons at Vitebsk State Medical University, mastering modern methods in orthopedic dentistry.
The international collaboration continues to gain momentum. Currently, a student from Moldova is undergoing specialised training at the renowned V.M. Bekhterev Psychiatry and Mental Health Center through partnership of Kirov SMU with IFMSA. Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the next wave of exchanges, with Kirov students set to depart for medical institutions in Armenia, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey, Thailand, Tunisia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
These exchange programs represent more than just academic trips abroad - they are transformative experiences that shape future medical professionals. Students return not only with enhanced practical skills but also with a broader understanding of global healthcare approaches and valuable international connections. The university plans to host a special conference where participants will share their experiences and insights gained during these international rotations.
Kirov State Medical University remains committed to expanding its global partnerships, continually creating new opportunities for students to grow professionally while representing Russian medical education on the international stage. The success of these exchanges underscores the university's position as a leading center for medical education that prepares truly world-class specialists.
