Belarussian Students Completed Practical Training in Kirov SMU

Kirov State Medical University (Kirov SMU) hosted a welcoming meeting between the rector and international students arriving for clinical internships. This year, the university welcomes trainees from medical universities in Belarus and Moldova, specialising in orthopedic dentistry, therapeutic dentistry, psychiatry, obstetrics, and gynecology.

Each student was paired with an experienced supervisor from Kirov SMU’s affiliated healthcare institutions, ensuring methodological guidance and quality control throughout their training. This personalised approach allows students to gain practical skills while adapting to Russian medical standards.

During the meeting, rector L.M. Zheleznov emphasised the importance of international exchanges for students’ professional growth and inter-university partnerships. "Such programs not only enrich trainees’ expertise but also strengthen ties between medical schools across borders," he noted.

E.V. Sharapova, head of the Department of International Relations, outlined plans to expand cooperation with foreign institutions. "We aim to diversify exchange formats, including joint research and dual-degree programs," she shared.

The event concluded with a symbolic gesture: J.V. Ovsyannikova, head of the Office for Coordination of International Affairs, presented the guests with memorable souvenirs as a sign of our hospitality.

Our university continues to enhance its role in international medical education, offering students opportunities for professional development within a global community. With its robust mentorship system and commitment to cross-cultural exchange, the university sets a benchmark for nurturing future healthcare leaders.
