Over 100 Students Compete Annual Chemistry Olympiad

On the eve of their professional holiday, the Chemistry Department hosted its highly anticipated annual student Olympiad, drawing more than 100 participants from the specialties of general Medicine, Pediatrics, and the Faculty of Foreign Students.

The Olympiad, designed to deepen future doctors’ understanding of fundamental chemical sciences and spotlight top talent, unfolded in two intense stages. The first was an online qualifying round testing theoretical knowledge, which narrowed the field to the strongest contenders. The final stage brought the best to the Chemistry Department’s laboratory, where students tackled situational challenges, quizzes and practical tasks requiring skillful manipulation of reagents and equipment - mirroring real-world research and diagnostic scenarios.

After fierce competition, the jury announced the winners:

  • Among students of General Medicine and Pediatrics:

    • 1st place: A. Dubovik (group 101)

    • 2nd place: A. Filimonov and V. Krupina (group 102)

    • 3rd place: V. Koneva (group 102)
