On 19 May, the Department of Biology hosted a student scientific and practical conference with international participation "Topical issues of medical genetics. Hereditary blood diseases" in English. The head of the department, Elena Koledaeva, and the senior lecturer of the department, Yulia Onuchina, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. More than 120 participants took part in the plenary session. The conference addressed the issues of etiology, clinical picture of diagnosis and treatment of various hereditary blood diseases. The topics of hereditary causes of blood clotting disorders and other hemostasis pathologies, diagnostic approaches and the latest therapies, including the use of stem cells and other techniques, aroused the greatest interest of the participants.
According to the results of the conference, the authors of the best reports were awarded diplomas:

III degree: Sanaullah (group 206-i) "Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of sickle cell anemia".
III degree: Shaaban Ahmed Atef Ibrahim (group 205-i) "Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of Fanconi anemia".
