As part of the series of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, teachers of the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication Anastasiya Bardovskaya, Anna Komarova and Natalya Naumova held a series of events on the theme "Kirov as the city of labor valor." Preparatory course students and first-year foreigners visited places related to the work of factories, hospitals and schools during the war years. On the tour, they learned which enterprises were evacuated to Kirov and worked in our city, what products were produced during the war, studied the symbols and significance of the monument to the Kirov Home Front Workers, and learned about the reasons for choosing the T–34 tank as a monument to the Kirov Front.
The students visited the Labor Glory Square, which houses commemorative signs in honor of Kirov enterprises awarded high state awards for their work during the Great Patriotic War and cities of Kirov region awarded the title "City of Labor Glory", and the alley of Heroes of Socialist Labor and Heroes of Labor of Russia was created.
The greatest interest of foreign students was aroused by an excursion to the museum and production workshops of the Kirov Tire Factory, noted for its contribution to the victory during the Great Patriotic War and continuing to strengthen the country's defense. At the museum, students got acquainted with unique archival documents and photographs, heard from the guide the memories of Kirov employees of the plant, and got acquainted with the work of the enterprise during the war years.
