Women’s Club Meeting: "For Girls About Girls"

Moving to another country is always a challenge—new people, a different language, and unfamiliar culture. For students studying far from home, it’s easy to feel lonely and lost. The Women’s Club, as part of the International Student Club, helps female students find support, become part of the student community, and adapt more quickly to life in a new country.

At our recent event, "For Girls About Girls," dedicated to International Women’s Day, we hosted a warm and inspiring meeting. Female students from India and Pakistan shared remarkable stories about outstanding women from their countries. We learned about Mary Kom, an Indian boxer, six-time world champion, and Olympic medalist whose life story is a powerful example of perseverance and strength. We also heard about Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan—a human rights activist who has been fighting for girls' right to education since a young age.

Representatives of the International Student Club shared the history of International Women’s Day and introduced participants to prominent women in Russian politics, medicine, and sports.

We sincerely thank all the students who participated in our event. These inspiring stories not only helped us learn more about the cultures of other countries but also introduced us to extraordinary personalities from around the world. We look forward to seeing you at our future meetings and events!
