In relation to the International Day of Multilateral Diplomacy for Peace and in order to promote the project "Cultural Issue. Africa" a teleconference dedicated to strengthening ties between Russia and African contries took place in the Kirov region. The event was held at the site of the Headquarters of Public Support for the Party "United Russia" on April 25, 2024.

 

 

      The event was attended by Ambassador of Peace to Russia Yevgeny Mikhalchenko, Ambassador of Russian Education and Science Aniset Kochof Gabriel (Republic of Benin), foreign students of Kirov universities, as well as activists of international public organisations.

      After the official part of the conference, students of Kirov State Medical University from African countries gave a presentation about their countries, local customs and traditions. The guests also demonstrated a master class in performing African dances and played traditional games with the children.

 

  

 

      An exhibition of a private collection of African figures, drums and masks collected by a resident of our city was also presented at the Headquarters site. Everyone could get acquainted with the exhibits.

 

 

      By the way, the Committee of International Students "Russia - Africa" was established to support and unite African students studying in the region. As Kenneth Agborebang, a native of the Republic of Cameroon, noted, "All conditions for intercultural communication have been created in educational institutions in Kirov, events are organised to familiarise with Russian traditions and culture."

 

 

      The meeting became a vivid example of the development of friendly relations between Russia and African countries, as well as the strengthening of intercultural ties through education and science.
