The department of foreign languages, the department of nursing and the department of propaedeutics of internal diseases and occupational diseases held the IV scientific and practical conference "Topical issues of the history of medicine and healthcare in Russia, the Middle East and Africa".

      The event was attended by speakers from Russia (cities of Kirov, Samara, Voronezh, Moscow), Belarus, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ghana, Lebanon. In total, they presented 30 reports (including 10 in English) dedicated to anniversaries in the history of medicine, traditional methods of treatment, methods of diagnosis and epidemiology of diseases.

 The research topics covered modern approaches to the diagnosis of malaria, epidemiology of systemic lupus erythematosus in Africa and Asia, history of development and modern application of lipid-lowering therapy in liver transplant recipients; traditional methods of treatment in Bangladesh, their history and modern significance.
