The department is an administering sub-department for students of the pediatric faculty who study there in the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th courses, students of General Medicine study pediatric surgery in the 5th-6th courses. The training is conducted on the basis of the first and second surgical, anesthesiological and resuscitation departments of the Regional Children`s Hospital. The department is equipped with modern technical equipment, educational slides, educational video films, multimedia equipment, and other manuals necessary for conducting the educational process at the proper level.
The electronic library of the department was recognised as the best in Kirov State Medical University in 2008 and was awarded the corresponding diploma.
There are cycles of thematic improvements for surgeons - "Pediatric Surgery" and "Pediatric Urology-Andrology", certification cycles and cycles of professional retraining in the specialty "Dediatric Surgery".
Training is conducted in a clinical residency.
