The department carries out teaching activities in the disciplines of "Anatomy", "Human Anatomy", "Human anatomy – anatomy of the head and neck", "Morphology: human anatomy, histology, cytology", participates in the implementation of educational programs in the specialties: "General Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Dentistry", "Medical Biochemistry", "General Medicine (English medium)", in the direction of training "Nursing". Also, the staff of the department provides teaching on additional educational programs for children and adults: "Anatomy", "History of medicine and anatomy", "Biology", "Anatomy of the senses", "Preparation for admission to university" in the system of pre-university and postgraduate education.
In 2016, with amendments and additions, a one-volume book "Human Anatomy" was published (authors: A.V. Kraev, O.V. Reztsov). In the textbook, in accordance with the requirements of educational standards, there is an appendix "Anatomical glossary" (author, Candidate of Medical Sciences K.A. Kolotov). In 2019, the textbook "Anatomical terminology" was published (authors: S. M. Mammadova, N.L. Maltseva, S.D. Andreeva).
