The Department of Propaedeutics of Children's Diseases is currently located at 2 clinical bases: in the Children's Clinical Consulting and Diagnostic Center, Kirov Baby Nursery. Students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th courses of the Faculty of Pediatrics and 4th, 5th, 6th courses of the Faculty of General Medicine study at the department. In the first and second year, students of the Pediatric faculty take courses in General Child Care. In the 3rd year, students get acquainted with the basics of rational feeding of children of the first year of life, criteria for assessing physical and neuropsychic development, anatomical and physiological features of the child's body, study the symptoms and syndromes of pathological conditions in children. At the end of the training, students pass an intermediate assessment, which consists of 3 stages (testing, practical tasks, interview). Students of the 6th year of the Pediatric faculty study the discipline "Clinical Pharmacology". This discipline provides for the development of modern aspects of pharmacotherapy of children`s diseases, principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of medicines, issues of effective and safe use of medicines in pediatric practice.

     In the 4th, 5th, 6th courses, students of the faculty of General Medicine study the discipline "Pediatrics". At the department, students get acquainted with the anatomical and physiological features of the child's body, the features of diagnosis, clinic, treatment and prevention of childhood diseases. At the end of the training, students pass an intermediate certification in Pediatrics, which consists of 3 stages (testing, practical tasks, interview).

     In addition, the department conducts classes in elective disciplines: Clinical Allergology of childhood, Nutrition of healthy and sick children, etc.
