Educational and methodical activity of the department of Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology includes the training of 4th and 5th year students of the medical, pediatric and dental faculties of Kirov State Medical University on the cycle "Dermatovenerology". Teaching is conducted in the VII, VIII and IX semesters according to the program developed for each faculty. For students of each faculty, there is a separate practical training plan, a list of competencies, test tasks. The curation of patients with skin pathology is provided, at the end of the cycle, students write a medical history according to these patients. Lectures are given by professor S. V. Koshkin and сandidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor M. V. Drozhdina.
     Students' knowledge is assessed during written and oral surveys, solving situational tasks and test control. At the end of the cycle, a test is given, a medical history is written.
     Department of Dermatovenerology conducts electives on the topic "Dermatocosmetology" for 6th year students. Elective includes a course of lectures and practical exercises with mandatory clinical analysis of patients, demonstration of slides, models.
     Department conducts training in clinical residency in the specialty "Dermatovenerology", conducts thematic improvement cycles for dermatovenerologists, additional professional education in cosmetology, certification and certification cycles for dermatovenerologists, cosmetologists. Seminars are conducted according to the program approved by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, mainly in the form of clinical reviews of patients. During the training, patients (5-15 people per month) are supervised in hospital departments under the supervision of teachers of the department, all the necessary practical skills are mastered. Interns and residents take part in conferences, consultations and consultations, in the work of international conferences on dermatovenerology and aesthetic medicine held annually by the department.
     Over the years of the department's work, more than 250 scientific articles have been published in Russian and foreign journals with a high citation index, 2 patents for inventions have been obtained, more than 150 scientific reports have been made at regional, all-Russian and international conferences. The staff of the department published 2 monographs, 20 illustrated teaching aids, which glorified the department of Dermatovenerology far beyond the Kirov region.
     The department has collected a unique collection of its own photographs of rare and interesting clinical cases, thanks to which illustrated atlases are regularly published, the material and exhibits for the museum of the department are painstakingly collected.
     Over the years, the department has trained more than 70 residents and interns who are actively working in the healthcare system, including in leadership positions. The head of the department managed to create a team that consists entirely of graduates of Kirov State Medical University, which brings our special pride!
