Exploring space

On  26th of April, first-year students of the Faculty of Foreign Students, together with dean of the faculty Irina Suetina visited the Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky.

The students got acquainted with the history of space exploration and the main stages of space flight, saw images of rockets, space stations and satellites, and also learned amazing facts about the life of astronauts on the International Space Station. The museum guide also told the students about a Russian austronaut, who became the hundredth spaceman of the Earth, Viktor Savinykh.

During the excursion, foreign students were able to feel like real cosmonauts. They measured their weight on various planets and tried to repair the spacecraft.

The students were very impressed by the visit to the museum and wished to get acquainted with the planetarium next time. Space topic interested foreign students so much that they decided to take part in the International Youth "Tsiolkovsky Readings", which will be held from 24th to 26th of October.
